Google going on a picnik?

We all know and love our own favourite desktop photo editing & image manipulation software, for me it has to be photoshop. Now we are in the cloud there are other on-line versions when you just want a quick fix, gimp is a great example. You may have been waiting for this news for a while. Seems only likely that one day Google would go social. Some would argue that they already have with the advent of Google wave and other frankenstein’s coming out of the Google labs. But here is Google Buzz!  But does it have the power to take on the other giants such as Facebook and Twitter?

I’ve just been reading a good article on advertising in Social Media environments by eConsultancy.
“A survey conducted by Knowledge Networks throws the consensus into question. It found that less than 5% of social media participants aged 13 to 54 “regularly turn to these sites for guidance on purchase decisions“.”
